Monday Morning Bar Graph

There are 8 children that like lions. Maybe this is because we were called The Learning Lions last year. One grown up likes giraffes. Two people like rhinos. Not everybody did it on Monday because they didn't get here in time.

Jackson is our Friend

During Discovery today, we got to hold Jackson, our class pet. We listened to Mr Davidson. We had to hold him on the tail near his bum and be very careful. He was not too scared of us. See the pictures of us holding him:

Mouse Discovery

Today we had a Discovery all about mice. We got to hold Jackson, make a collage of a mouse, make up a song for Jackson, and make some toys for him.  Here are some pictures of our collages:

Jackson the Mouse

Today, one of our students made a Pic Collage about Jackson, our pet mouse:

Our Butterflies

This morning we found two butterflies in our classroom. We let them walk on us so they could go free outside. This is a picture with us holding the butterfly. It felt ticklish when they were on our hands but it was fun. Some people were scared to hold them. After we held them, we put them in the garden where the flowers are to be helpful. We had to put them gently on the flowers because we might break their wings.

Our Caterpillars

In our class we have 10 caterpillars. They are big. The caterpillars got a new skin. Some caterpillars turned into a chrysalis. We got to touch them gently with one finger. They felt soft. One chrysalis moved. They ate a lot of leaves and when the leaves were gone we fed them some pumpkin.

Our Mouse

This mouse is our new mouse and his name is Jackson. He lives in a cage in our classroom - Room 8. He is tiny and he is afraid of people that are too close to him and that shake the table. You have to put a fist so he can smell you and not be afraid. He knows that you are not going to eat him.  He climbs up the side of his cage. He's got a long tail. Here is a picture of him.
