Pasifika
This week in Pasifika, Mr Siilata and the older children taught us some new dances. The boys learned a Samoan Faitaupati (a slap dance) and the girls learned a Samoan Siva (please, if this is wrong, correct me). Have a look at the older children teaching the younger children. Remember this is their first try at doing this.
Shapes!
Mr Davidson told us to make pictures with shapes. We could use triangles, rectangles, circles, hexagons, ovals and squares. Have a look at the videos we took talking about our pictures:

Strike Percussion
On Friday last week, we went to the hall to watch a drum band called Strike Percussion. Their names were: Biscuits, Mufasa and Tim the Tool Man Taylor. They played the drums.
Then they tried to make it rain. They played a song using the marimba.
Next Mrs Tollestrup and Miss Taylor went up on the stage and did some mean songs. It was amazing.
After that, Sini went up on the stage and played a song on the Cook Island drums. Can you see him?
They got tired and they were thirsty so they made music with the drink cans.
Finally they made music with fire.
My favourite part was the fire (Nari). My favourite part was Biscuits playing the marimba (Essence). My favourite part was when they were playing with the drinks (Vaueli).

Science in a Van!
Today at school in the hall there was a lady and a man doing a science show for us. The big ball and the little ball were on top of each other. When they bounced the power from the big ball went to the small ball and it bounced high. Thank you Nari for taking the video:
The man played with the whip. He told us that end of the whip makes it loud. It goes really fast and that makes the sound.
Here is a Pic Collage we made. Mr Davidson took the pictures and then we told him what to write:
When we went to morning tea and the bell rang we went to the hall again and the man blew some bubbles for the Busy Bees and the Fledglings.

Swimming!
We went swimming with another class today and when we were finished, room 3 and rom 4 came (Robbie). When we were swimming, Miss Nua told us to go around the corners and go around the pool so you could make a whirlpool (or a tornado). It was fun, but our legs hurt. The water went to push us and it went to make us run faster. Some people used boards to make it make a whirlpool. Then we turned around to go the other way. It was too hard to push. (Tuakana, Solomon and Corinna) It was fun turning around (Nari). Here is a video:
