Congratulations to Leanna, Solomon and TJ for getting certificates this week. Leanna for always helping out when needed, Solomon for moving up 3 reading levels so far this term (that's 9 months of progress!) and TJ for setting a good example while Mr Davidson was out of the room. Well done!

Planting a Tree

In assembly this morning we got a plant because we posted our pledge on our blog yesterday. This afternoon we went to the back of the school to plant it. First we dug a hole with the spades. Then we put the plant in the hole. Next we filled in the hole with the dirt. Finally we watered the plant. Have a look at the pictures we took.

Shapes!

Mr Davidson told us to make pictures with shapes. We could use triangles, rectangles, circles, hexagons, ovals and squares. Have a look at the videos we took talking about our pictures:

Road Safety Week

On Tuesday, we made signs for Road Safety week. We made our own signs first and then we made the classroom sign. We made the classroom sign by painting but we drew some pictures and words before that. Have a look at our sign:

In assembly today, we took all of our signs to the hall so that we could share it with all of the other children. The other classes made their own and brought them too.  Here is a video of all of the posters:

Bridges of Sand

Next time we're going to do it better by making the hills the same size (Jenysis). That is making it right. We will try this next week.

Happy Day

Today was Happy Day. We went to our morning tea shed and drew some happy day pictures of us. Have a look at what we did and watch the video!

Patterns!

Today, Mr Davidson asked us to make a pattern using anything we could find in the classroom.  We used Lego, puzzles, lids, rocks and shells, numicon shapes and Bee Bots. Can you make a pattern yourself?

Have a look at the patterns we made. Can you figure out what the pattern is?

Flower Power (Thursday)

We've been a bit behind lately, but we remembered to give out the flower this week. Leanna got it because when a new student came to our class today, she put her hand up to offer to show her around. What a great friend you are Leanna! Way to Work with Others and Listen with Empathy!

Jackson is our Friend

During Discovery today, we got to hold Jackson, our class pet. We listened to Mr Davidson. We had to hold him on the tail near his bum and be very careful. He was not too scared of us. See the pictures of us holding him:
